Wi-Fi is disabled
All notebooks have the “Fn” key, which on most models is next to the key with the Windows flag.
By pressing the “Fn” key together with the function key responsible for controlling the Wi-Fi, it may happen that we disable the reception of the wireless signal without realizing it. Solving this is very simple, just press the “Fn” key together with the responsible function key
to activate the Wi-Fi again.
The notebook is out of range of the network
Some routers have built-in antennas whose range is very low. Even routers with external antennas can have a short range because they use low power antennas.
The closer your router is to where you use your notebook, the greater the signal strength.
Outdated or non-existent driver
To check the condition of your drivers, especially network drivers, you must go to the Windows Control Panel, access the option "System and Security", then "System" and finally "Device Manager", in the left column. The window that opens will indicate the condition of the drivers. If there is a yellow icon with an exclamation mark in any of the options, it is because the driver for that component is outdated or missing.
To solve this, you need to go to the website of the manufacturer of that component, either from the network card or from the motherboard of your notebook and download the driver compatible with your model and system version.
DNS server problems
The DNS server is an essential item for the proper functioning of your Internet. If your notebook has a wrong DNS server configured or your Internet operator's DNS is experiencing problems, just change it to solve the problem.
Interference from other electronics
Devices that use a wireless signal work in certain frequency bands, called “channels”. If, for example, your router is on the same channel as your wireless phone, one network will interfere with the other, causing the Internet to drop and slow down.
